recently added rules

• Naming the artist is required for the 1st point, correctly naming the title in addition to the artist is worth a total of 2 points
• Translation, you will lose a point if you can only name the song title, only put up your @ symbol if you know the artist
• 1 captain per team, 1 team per captain
• A team must have 6 players present and active at the start of each round, any less and they lose the round and we move on
• Only put up 1 @ symbol.  Additional @ symbols will cause your response to be ignored.  For example, if "@@@" is 1st on the DJ screen, the next single "@" is the player that will be called upon.
• If you Type your answer, to get 2 points, you must type the Artist and Title on 1 line within the 10 second time limit (if you type slow, use the Microphone)
• Couples that share a user name may both participate and they only count as 1 active player
• Do not Page the DJ
• DJ decides color conflicts at start of round
• To play a round, the player must be available and active when the round starts.  A player who shows up late may NOT jump in after the round has started.  However, if the team wins, the player may join the team for a later round.
• Check back before the Tournament starts for final updates

how to play - the rules in brief

1. As soon as you know the artist and/or title type an @ (shift-2) symbol
2. The DJ will stop the song 
3. The DJ will announce the name of the player who's @ symbol registered first
4. Say (using the Microphone is recommended) or Type your answer
5. You only have 10 seconds to respond once your name is called
6. 1 point for title or the artist
7. 1 extra point for the correct song title

• You lose a point (-1) if either are the artist OR title is wrong (so be careful)
• You lose a point (-1) if you do not answer in time
• No poles, no melons, no exceptions
• Do not sing or waste time on Microphone
• The 1st @ symbol that counts is what the DJ sees on HIS/HER SCREEN (see lag)
• The DJs word is final and we will move along immediately
• Games are played to 10 points, a team must win by 2 or more points
• Final round is played to 25 points and win by at least 2 points
• If you are having problems, you may re-ping, re-boot or whatever is necessary - you may leave and return to the game without penalty - but the game will not stop and wait for you

8PM (central), Wednesday, March 28th, 2001

7 Teams... one goal... the games were excellent, many of them were VERY close and went down to the wire.  The Restless Ones dropped out at the last minute due to insufficient players.  This left 6 Teams... one goal...

Series 1 - Two Teams Will Not Survive

Initial Round
Teams pair off and winner moves on to Series 2.  The game is to 15 and you must win by 2.  The losers move on to the Last Chance Round.

Last Chance Round
All 3 teams battle at the same time to 10 points.  Rounds will continue until 1 team wins 2 rounds.  The winner moves on to Series 2.  The losers are out of the Tournament (until next time).

Series 2 - The Final 4

Semi-Final Round
Teams pair off and winner moves on to the Tournament Final Round.  The games are to 15 and teams must win by 2.  The losers are out of the Tournament (until next time).

Tournament Final Round
Final 2 Teams pair off and battle for the trophy!  The game is to 25 and the champion must win by 2.
